These **strawberry scones** are soft, sweet, and topped with a light glaze for the perfect treat.
Ingredients
– 2 cups all-purpose flour
– 1/4 cup sugar
– 1 tablespoon baking powder
– 1/2 teaspoon salt
– 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
– 1/2 cup fresh strawberries, diced
– 1/2 cup milk
– 1 large egg
– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
### For the Glaze
– 1/4 cup powdered sugar
– 1 tablespoon milk
– 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Add cubed butter and mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Gently fold in diced strawberries.
3. Add milk, egg, and vanilla extract, and mix until just combined. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and gently pat it into a 1-inch thick round. Cut into 8 wedges and place on the baking sheet.
4. Bake for 18–20 minutes or until golden brown. Whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract for the glaze. Drizzle over baked scones.
